Two birds one stone

I started this blog in order to help with my writing (English Major) and to start a pod cast.

I though I’d write an essay a week on some arbitrary subject, post it, and I’d be fightin’ off the bitches with my penis. I honestly thought that I could do an essay a week and do random post on news from around the net and be golden. Nope. School, work, and my [awesomely hot] girlfriend all got in the way of my blogging duties. So from Monday on I'll devote most of my free time to this blog. That is a promise. It's nice to be back by the way.

My real life girlfriend:

Alright, fine! Here’s my real girl friend!

All right, all right THIS is my real girlfriend

Stay tune it gets worst…

Um, hey haven't seen you in a while, huh ?

Yes! School is over and from this point on (well until summer sessions start) I and Justin will devote ourselves to this site and you!

Here's what our weekly post will look like:

Monday: What I've been reading; 'Justine's weekly anime rant'
Tuesday: What I've been watching
Wednesday: What I've been listening
Thursday: What I've been playing
Friday: What I am looking forward to
Saturday & Sunday: Not much at all...

That looks horrible...well I guess we're just starting up but still

WE'S BACK!

Quickie

I like this Japanese commercial for "Fits" a gum...you can stop watching after the secound one; it ends up repeating the first two

Fuck Schrodinger’s cat! What’ve I been listening to

MC Hawking, Bitches!

Yes, along with being the third smartest dude/dudette in the world (behind Kagami Yoshimizu and Marilyn vos Savant) this guy can bust a nut with a verse and a rhyme.

First off, MC Hawking is a prolific rap artist in the underground scene of Nerdcore. Nerdcore is a sub-genre of rap, as you guessed from the title a lot of the lyrics usually involve nerd, and nerd related things (anime, video games, math, science, being a virgin into your late thirties, Star Wars, Star Trek, any deviation of the concept of space, time, and pre-history universe.). Many of the prominent artists are…well white, and their delivery is similar to what many rappers at the birth of rap in the early nineties, eighties and late seventies.

like this:

Mama Said Knock You Out - LL Cool J
Than gangsta rap came along

6 Feet Deep - Ghetto Boys
Sorry

Anyway, Hawking love affair of rap came by in the early nineties when he and Dr. Dre were rolling down the street, drinking forties, and talking about theories of the Universe. When Dr. Dre turned to Hawking and whispered in his ear “Let’s make an album.” When Hawking recovered from shock that, that was the thing he asked! He looked over and said the words that would echo through the doughnut shape Universe and it’s duration.

"Let's set this bitch a blaze"
-Stephen Hawking, 1992

In 1992 Stephen Hawking dropped a three song LP: The Hawkman Cometh EP, and blew the collective mind of the rap community and the scientific community. In the same mother-fucking song, entitled The Hawkman Cometh Hawking blasting Kip Thorne, John Preskill, 2pac, Biggie, and Wu-Tang.

Hawking from ‘92 to ‘97 enjoyed the fame as being one of the most feared rappper of his time. In between those years Hawking released two more albums “Fear of a Black Hole(94)” and “E=MC Hawking(97)” to wide acclaim and sales.

On the 1997 song entitled "Hawking Radiation” on his album E=MC Hawking released that year, he called his life long scientific and rap rivals John Preskill and Kip Thorne "gay;" to add insult to injury Hawking mocked Kip’s LIGO experiment, again calling that “gay.” While introducing a new theory on the black hole information paradox...awesome!

In response to such an insult Kip and hetro-partner John Preskill challenged Hawking to a scientific rap off on the topic of the Black Hole Information Paradox(they believed Hawking's theory to be bullshit). The challenge was to take place at the University of Florida (Kip’s turf) on November 16th of that year.

Hawking unfortunately lost when he began his new joint “ Event Horizon“, although rumor has it that Hawking only lost cause Jon, and Kip cheated by unplugging Hawking’s machine and installing the flawed song(it’s rumored because the song’s content goes against everything Hawking believed and rapped about). Since than Hawking has refused to talk about the shameful event that ruined his rap career being dropped by his label Death Row Records.

Hawking became a recluse very seldom being seen in public; from 1997 to 2004 Hawking refused to even touch a mic. Seemingly out of no where and no reason Hawking announced he would make a best of album to be released in 2004 by Brash Entertainment to be epically called A Brief History of Rhyme: Best of MC Hawking. The album would have all of MC Hawking’s top hits remixed by Ken Leavitt-Lawrence and DJ Doomsday who would provide new beats and lyrics for the album.

When asked why Dre wasn’t involved with the album. Hawking only said “Et tu Dre? Et tu?” and left.

The record was quietly released with a very small reception.

In 09, I bought MC Hawking’s best of album over Memorial Day weekend and loved it. He mixes science, theoretical physics, and being a gangsta on the streets; very well with great rhymes on top of amazing beats provided by DJ Doomsday. The tracks are layered you can listen to it just for the enjoyment of a genially good song or ironicly for their amazing abilty to mix gangsta rap with theoretical physics. Check him out at his site or do what I did buy his album( of course there are other ways you can get his songs *cough* *cough*).

He was a legend in his time; his a myth in our’s

Biz Bizang (LP Version) - M.C. Hawking
Check it out he may not even be alive. He was rushed to Cambridge Hospital April 20th due to a chest infection. As of now they say his doing fine but you never know, you never know…

Not excited but I'm still going to watch it: M. Night's 'Avatar'

Did you know The Sixth Sense writer and director M. Night Shymalan is making Nickelodeon’s anime inspired cartoon Avatar: The Last Airbender into a movie? Me neither…

Instead of being called Avatar: The Last Airbender it’s going to be called The Last Air Bender due to James Cameron’s movie of the same name; they've dropped Avatar from the title to avoid confusion.

The movie is due to come out July 2, 2010; going down the actors’ names on IMDB the only person I see worth mentioning is Dev Patel (the kid from Slumdog Millionaire). I’m not judging the movie based on its stars but on its director. M. Night has made one great movie, after The Sixth Sense every other film his made has been very, very disappointing.

I’m holding out hope that the movie may not be very bad; the movie is written by Bryan Konietzko and… M. Night. Still Bryan is one of the main dudes who worked on the series with Michael Dante DiMartino and they wouldn’t let their prized series be altered too much by M. Night. I mean from the screens below it looks like a pretty faithful adaptation.

How bad can he screw this up? Its targeted at kids, and maybe he won’t pull a disappointing twist: the kid was actually in car accident and these are his last thoughts.

Also that kid (Noah Ringer) does kind of look like the main dude from the show.

Dev looks “cool” I guess

The Metriod Prime series is heading to the Wii

G4 reports that Nintendo will release all three Metriod Prime games on August fourth. If you haven’t played any of the Metriod Prime games you should, especially now with it only costing 49.99 dollars. But wait it gets better: both Metriod Prime and Metriod Prime 2: Echoes, now have the same Wii Nunchuck control scheme as the third Metriod Prime does. Also the two previous games also have Metriod Prime 3: Corruption’s medal system, you can now buy art, music, and “special options.” The Metriod Prime series are some of the best shooters the Gamecube had to offer; I’ve yet to play Metriod Prime 3 but for 49.99, all three games on one disk, and with a crap loads of special features I’m so getting it.
