.: Manly Anime For Manly Men [Justin's weekly Anime rant]

Hello, ladies and gents, and welcome to the first of many blog segments which from hereon after will be referred to as "Justin's weekly Anime rant"!

Yeah yeah yeah!

If you're like me, you like trying new things. Eating new kinds of food, meeting new kinds of people, and watching new kinds of anime. Every week I will be checking out a new anime then I will be posting a rant about it. I'll let you know if it's worth checking out or if it's nothing but a waste of your valuable time [I'm looking at you, Code Geass!]

Anyway back to the main subject. This week I had the chance to check out Hajime No Ippo. What the hell is "Hajime No Ippo?" you ask? Well in a nutshell, it is one of, if not the most manly anime you will ever watch. It has no magical school girls, no cute cuddly "OMG SO KAWAII" characters, and one thing about this anime which really stands out is the fact that the male characters actually look manly when compared to most other anime. [Once again, I'm looking at you Code Geass. >:(]

Because pink swords are SO not gay.

Hajime No Ippo tells the story of a young man known as Ippo, a character most anime fans can relate to seeing as how he's a wimp who bullies like to pick on. Ippo s getting his butt kicked one day [like usual] and then the bullies do something that crosses the line. The bullies insult Ippo's mom! Ippo, being the wimp that he is, doesn't stand up for his mom and just collapses on the ground. Lucky for him, a bad ass amateur boxer is doing his daily manly jogs just as the bullies are kicking his wimpy butt...and thus begins the story.

The boxer saves Ippo's ass and Ippo decides he is done being a wimp. He takes an interest in boxing and slowly transforms from a wimp into a manly sandbag puncher. This anime is also very inspirational, since the protagonist is one the viewers can relate to. It really pumps you up! If you want a different kind of anime, then I highly recommend this one. Sure it's not as popular as Naruto or Code Geass but just because Adult Swim hasn't shown it, doesn't mean it's not good. If you have a vagina than this anime probably won't do anything for you. However, if you're a man, you have to at least check this anime out. Don't be a fag.
